SENR List FAQ

  1. What is SouthEasternNaturalRearing (SENR)?

SENR is a group of people living in the SouthEastern US that feed their animals a raw diet. We come together on this list to share information about local suppliers, make bulk orders together, and to talk about diet and animal health in general.

  2. What is the topic of this list?

Topic? What's a topic? Many people will say "this is off topic, but...", and we usually reply with "nothing is off topic here." As long as it's friendly discussion, it's pretty much ok. We mostly talk about nutrition and health of our animals, but don't be surprised to hear about car troubles, computer troubles, house cleaning, or anything else that we think up!

  3. Is this a high volume list?

We go through phases, but sometimes it can be very high volume. We like to talk alot. :)

  4. Who are Fonzi and Hector? And why are they called the Beef Cheeks Men?

Fonzi and Hector sell beef cheeks and other bulk meat items to our list goddess Alison, who gets orders from list members each week and makes "Fonzi runs." They are located in the Atlanta area. If you are interested in ordering from them, contact Alison (listed on suppliers page).

  5. Who are the Wabbit Man and Wabbit Woman?

Rex and Melanie are Wabbit Man and Wabbit Woman, respectively. They were suppliers of Wabbit to members of this list. They have since ceased breeding wabbits, but do have the most adorable goat babies around.

  6. What is the Trail O' Blood?

When Alison makes a "Fonzi run", she stores the cases of meat in her bathtub until people pick it up. On the way down the hall to the bathroom, blood drips from these cases of meat. A Trail O' Blood is an easy way to find a fellow raw feeder.

  7. Should the list members be in a mental hospital?

    Oh, probably....

  8. Is there any kind of initiation to this group?

Officially, no. Unofficially, making a mess of your kitchen with "stupid raw diet preparation" is a great way to get inducted into the group. Several list members have gotten livers, blood, and flax seeds all over their kitchens from doing silly things when preparing raw food. :) Other list members learn from these mistakes - usually.
